- "I never liked it. It looks so bleak and dead."
- ―Mira Dragen
Snake Mount is the seat of House Dragen. It is a very large fortress situated on an equally menacing mountain, located east from Winterfell, from where the head of House Dragen rules over his people. A large, mysterious Godswood is located outside of Snake Mount's walls which is considered cursed by the Dragens.
History[]
Background[]
According to legend, House Dragen has held a castle at Snake Mount for 8,000 years, though it has been considerably expanded over the centuries.
Lord Garth Dragen rode south to fight with Lord Eddard Stark in Robert's Rebellion after Lord Eddard's father and brother were killed by the Mad King. At the end of the war, he returned to Snake Mount with his new wife Alise Dragen and their three children; Lucas, Erik and Mira Dragen.
Season 4[]
Garth returns from the Red Wedding, sustaining heavy injuries. He vows for vengeance and leaves Snake Mount to fight the Boltons, leaving Lucas to act as Lord of Snake Mount.
Season 5[]
Garth Dragen is assassinated by the Boltons. Lucas becomes the new Lord of Snake Mount. Domeric and Mira Dragen flee Snake Mount and seek shelter at Deepwood Motte. Lord Lucas marries Larinna Dragen, who becomes a prominent resident within the castle.
