Ser Kormed Grayburn is a recurring character in the first, second, fifth, and sixth seasons. He is the younger brother of Lord Hendrick Grayburn of Brightbank and a man-at-arms in service to House Stark of Winterfell, and was Ser Rodrik Cassel's right-hand man.
He accompanies Ned Stark to King's Landing when Ned is appointed Hand of the King and replaces Jory Cassel as the Captain of the Guards for House Stark when Jory is killed by Jaime Lannister. When House Stark is purged from King's Landing, Ser Kormed is able to escape with a handful of what remains of Ned Stark's personal guard, as well as his nephew, Carmine Grayburn. Kormed returns to Winterfell and serves as an advisor to Bran Stark when Bran is appointed Lord of Winterfell. He makes a promise to both Bran and his brother Rickon that he would do his best to protect them and not fail him they way he failed in protecting his father. When Torrhen's Square is attacked by ironborn, Ser Kormed accompanies Ser Rodrik to counter them, but does not return and is thought to be killed.
In truth, Kormed survived Torrhen's Square, but was captured by Ramsay Snow's forces shortly after the Sack of Winterfell and was held prisoner at The Dreadfort. He remains a prisoner when the Boltons retake and rebuild Winterfell, but during the chaos of the Battle of Winterfell, Kormed escapes alongside Sansa Stark and Theon Greyjoy and makes the same promise to Sansa that he made to Bran and Rickon.
Ser Kormed is one of those who accompanies Ned Stark to King's Landing when he is appointed Hand of the King. Before he leaves Winterfell, he gives comforting words to Jon Snow regarding Jon's decision to take the black, and informs him that his son Konrad also decided to take the black.
