The Inner Sanctum is a near-mythical room located within the Blackgard Ancestral Tomb. It is a massive chasm filled with treasure, although the room is also believed to be riddled with traps and other hazards. The room itself says to hold the final resting place of Asterion the Black, where his sarcophagus stands.
Since its construction, no man has ever successfully entered the Inner Sanctum, not even Asterion's own descendants have successfully stepped inside, mainly because the way to the Sanctum has been lost to history because of the tomb's expansiveness. Because of this, most in the Ashlands even doubt the room's existence, claiming it's just a myth to attract would-be looters to their deaths. Regardless, the mystery and fascination surrounding Asterion's Tomb is enough for several raiders to make their attempts to reach it, only to be killed by traps before ever reaching the Sanctum's entrance, or getting lost along the way and becoming imprisoned within the maze-like Ancestral Tomb.
