Diadromes was born to an unknown family of an unknown house where she was disgraced because she was born female in place of male. Her father was arguably very ambitious, hoping to have a prodigal son who would become a knight and help him get into the Thirteen. When she was eight years old, upon request of her father, her mother took her to a small pond barely within Qarth's walls and almost drowned her to death there. Her mother, believing she was dead, left her there and she was found by Xaro Xhoan Daxos and nursed her back to health, taking her in as though one of his own children. She swore herself to him as a way of thanking him and served as his bodyguard and confidante.
